EEA country has an associated BIC + IBAN, which is clearly identified and printed on all bank account statements issued after July 2003.
The IBAN validator will also decode and identify the country, bank and branch routing details, and bank account number of any valid IBAN. The codes can sometimes be found on account statements.
Not having it handy meant the funds transfer was delayed. A list of Bank SWIFT codes is something you may not think is useful until you need one.
